new post please!

my last post was a delicious recipe which is normally really good, but for some reason my stomach didnt agree with much that night so I couldnt stand seeing that recipe everytime I looked at my blog so I have to do another post!
anzlie has been asking a lot of questions lately and learning very quickly. she keeps pretending she is auditioning for american idol and says the judges said absolutely three yes's and then she practices her miss america, "I JUST WON!" face and thanks the judges and she even has a pretend golden ticket she made herself to get to hollywood. I think we have a budding star on our hands. I love to watch her dance though. she is very talented at dancing for a five year old! thats the latest and greatest on anzer!
landon! he decided that he loves to say the prayers in our house and always remembers to bless that the monsters dont eat our baby and so on...he is very thoughtful and the other night when we had guests over he blessed that the baby would come out of mommy's private soon...I was shocked! when did he get that anatomy lesson! you never know what kids will say. he was also at our neighbors the other day and she called to tel me that landon was revealing things about me. he told her his underwear felt tight and she told him to tell mommy he needs new big boy ones. he said my mommies underwear would fall right off me! then he said, but she does have superman underwear! she laughed and then thought for a second and decided that statement was totally true...there are just no secrets with little ones. Landon just started speech therapy and is working really hard at it. He has grown as tall as anzlie lately and surpassed her in weight so I appear to have a set of twins when I go places with a two year old trailing them and a huge prego belly. I get a lot of looks.
ciera has grown the most lately. her hair is getting so long and pretty and she is into dressing herself. she loves dresses and tights right now. she also dresses in dress ups and for some reason seems to go to sleep with a beenie on her head every night. She sings in the car all the time and when you turn the car off she yells at you because she wasnt done singing! I love her little voice. Every night when I put her to bed she puts her little arm around my neck and snuggles in. I always wanted a snuggler and I got her.
chris has been working hard at his new job and we have a lot of fun together on the weekends. I am a little more miserable lately than i would like and I still have 10 weeks left. I have been reading and learning more music on the piano to accomplish some goals before ou new addition comes. thats all I have to report for now stay tuned for further updates!

recipe idea

I haven't had much to post about lately. not too many noteworthy things going on but I thought I would share a good recipe my neoghbor gave me for breschetta.
cut up 4 latge tomatoes into little cubes
put into a bowl and sprinkle kosher salt on top and let it sit for 5 minutes.
cut up a block of mozarella into cubes and add to the tomatoes
cut up some fresh basil leaves and add it in
last add the balsamic vinegar as much or as little as you like
buy french bread and slice it. toast it on both sides. You want it a litle crispy
dip the bread and the meal is complete!
I have no idea about the caloric value but it's very good!

how could you???

yesterday turned out to be kind of busy for us. Since we live atleast 20 minutes away from costco and walmart and the bank...(atleast for 2 more weeks until all the new stores open here!) you pretty much have to get it all done at once. Anzlie had a birthday party at 12:30 that she was so excited about. A real fairy tea party. It's all she could talk about. We had to get a gift in time so off we went. We had to do some errands and by the time we got home its was 20 after 1 and we were nearly an hour late. I was worried she would miss the whole party if we went home first, wrapped the gift, and dressed up in the appropriate fairy tea party attire, so thinking she would rather not miss the whole party I dropped her off, unwrapped gift and all. I felt really bad but atleast she wouldnt miss the party! as soon as I went to leave, anzlie comes out of the house totally sobbing. usually I am thinking-cut the drama-anzlie you're fine...but in that instance I zoned into her little mind and felt awful. I had just sent her into the party where everyone had tiaras and dressups and she was wearing a jump suit with un-combed hair. She said, "mom! you forgot to get me dressed," in a terribly sad whimper.I hurried home and she got dressed and had a specific way she wanted her hair and within minutes off we went again. Everything was better now and on to end on a good note, she was so proud that sydney LOVED her gift. Lesson learned. I have to pay more attention to feelings and how embarrassing situations can be when your in elementary school. I was remembering back to grade school and I could still think of some embarrassing times even though it was all so long ago...I just thought I would share. anyone have any similar experiences?

I'm sick!

I know it's no shock but it"s true-mommies dont get sick days! I told chris I felt a little sick sunday night and it was followed by a horrible continuous stomach ache and vomiting every 30 minutes for a whole 18 hours. finally yesterday around dinner time I was able to keep food down and get hydrated without having to go to the hospital for fluids. I am so grateful for my neighbors that helped me get my kids to and from school. I am very lucky. last night I tried to go to sleep and I felt like I was having a heart-attack. I tried not to panic but the pain was unavoidable and never sub-sided. I had to take medicine to knock me out so I could rest and this morning I woke up better but bruised all over. I can't talk loudly or the pressure hurts and my heart is strained. I think it's from all the vomiting but it seemed more like a hiatal hernia. I had this once before so hopefully it will get better soon. I'm sure I lost many readers by this point, but if not-thanks for listening to my ramblings and I hope that no one gets that flu bug I had. I'm thankful it's a new day and my house is once again clean, fresh bread in the oven and tv off! I have energy!

a brand new year

it's sinking in now that it's actually 2009. I dont know where the time has gone! how can I already be a mother of four? I don't feel old enough for this! I am excited to see what the new year brings. of course, I am nervous at the events that are going on beyond my control in the world news and natural disasters. I know economic times are hard and they could get a lot worse. I am holding dear to the things that matter most. I am thankful for blogs as well. I feel somehow more connected to the outside world knowing that I am not alone. I also see it as a support system. I love all the advice I get. I love the great recipes, I love the funny documented moments, I love how the blog forces me to come out of my shell and express myself uncandidly. I feel like I am best friends with so many of you and in reality, you have no idea you even cross my mind! it's crazy how that happens.
I have struggled with stress and how to manage it and be my best self and sadly I realized that I couldn't handle a puppy just yet so she had to go to a new home. I was okay with the potty-training and all that. I was so tired of getting after the kids for not picking up their things and for letting the dog out of time out, not to mention the tears from the puppy getting overexcited and biting the kids over and over. I finally thought, "this puppy is bringing out a less attractive side of me." and that was it. my kids were sad and I cried for being the cause of their misery but I am so glad that I did it. I think I will definately start thinking twice about decisions that big!

funny story

so landon and anzlie were finishing dinner and their tummy's were full. Anzlie lifeted her shirt and said, "mom! look how big my baby is!" so of course, Landon lifted his shirt and said, "look how big my baby is." Anzlie quickly snapped back saying, "landon! boys can't have babies!" NOW FOR THE FUNNY PART: I had the tv on the discovery health channel and at the exact same moment there stood the world's pregnant man. we all heard about him a few months ago. he was on the oprah show and discovery health is doing a documentary on him. I wasnt watching it, it came on after the program I was watching and I had to laugh when anzlie looked over and saw this man fully pregnant on the tv screen. She just stopped and said, "uh, mom??" and then all the questions! kind of funny timing and Landon was like, "see anzlie, boys can have babies too." that was a teaching moment where I had to choose my words wisely. Just thought I'd share. I love reading your funny stories.
